Giacomo Puccini's

La Bohème

Considered one of the most popular operas in history, La Bohème is the ultimate story of love and loss. Set in 19th century Paris, a group of poverty-stricken artists weave a coming-of-age tale of passion, jealousy, and regret, and face the harsh reality of the death of one of their own. La Bohème was the inspiration for Rent, the Broadway hit now celebrating its 20th anniversary!

Jack and the Beanstalk

Saturday, August 03 @ 10:30 AM

Finger Lakes Opera presents Jack and the Beanstalk, an operatic version of the old English fairy tale featuring an adventuresome boy, his mother, a giant and his long-suffering wife, a golden hen, and magical beans! The opera moves along with energy and vitality while reinforcing the timeless moral lesson that encourages all people to treat others as they would like to be treated. The 45-minute staging is ideal for elementary ages. The presentation is framed by a brief introduction to the show featuring cast members, audience participation, and a question-and-answer session afterward, in which the children get to interact directly with the performers.
